Early Years Practitioner

We are looking to recruit a qualified Early Years Practitioner with experience of working within a busy nursery setting to join our ever-increasing friendly team. Daisychain is a privately run day nursery set in the rural village of Whitley just outside of Melksham. We open all year round 8.00am – 6.00pm. This is a full-time position for 40 hours per week over five days.

It is essential that you are caring, passionate about children’s development, able to use your own initiative, work well in a team, have strong communication skills but most of all have the ability to have lots of fun.

At Daisychain we enjoy the great outdoors whether it is out in our large garden or going on local walks around the village and Countryside. We are extremely lucky to boost that each of the three rooms is spacious with an abundance of resources. On top of all of that we also have a purpose built two story soft play for sole use of the nursery children.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Create a safe, secure, and nurturing environment where children thrive in their personal development.
  • To promote Daisychain’s aims, objectives and ethos.
  • To be a keyworker to a small group of children observing and assessing individual progress and development and keeping their online journeys accurate and up to date.
  • Have a clear understanding of the Development Matters Curriculum.
  • Provide simulating activities that are suitable for children aged between 0 – 5 year olds
  • Build healthy working relationships with parents, staff and other professionals.
  • To attend and participate in training courses as required, team meetings, supervision meeting and appraisals.
  • To understand and adhere to all policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • To ensure that all children are safeguarded and that their safety and welfare is always promoted.
  • To keep all safeguarding and first aid training relevant and up to date.
  • When required be involved in out of hours activities e.g. staff meetings, training, parents evenings and events.
  • To undertake other duties and responsibilities that nursery manager deems fit.

Daisychain is committed to the Safeguarding of all Children; this post is subject to an acceptable DBS check; the nursery will fund the outlay of this. The DBS is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974

 

Early Years Apprentice

Are you looking to start a career in childcare?

Daisychain Day Nursery is a large privately run nursery in the village of Whitley Near Melksham. We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and motivated Early Years Apprentice who is committed to training.  This is a full-time position within Snowdrops our baby unit.

We will provide you with a professional experience as you establish your career within the Early Years. The successful candidate will be enrolled on a apprenticeship scheme in Early Years Care and Education. You will be assigned a tutor who will carry out regular assessments and professional discussions with you, and we will mentor and support you throughout your training.  On completion of your qualification, you will have the chance to progress further.

Your role will involve:

  • Working co-operatively, flexibly and providing a positive contribution within your team.
  • Form positive relationships with children, parents and carers and staff.
  • Demonstrate a warm and caring approach with the children
  • To be aware of children’s individuality and respond accordingly.
  • Observe children’s interests, achievements and development and record their progress through their online learning journals.
  • Plan exciting and stimulating activities taking into consideration the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
  • Be prepared to attend all staff meetings outside of working hours.
  • Be a good ambassador for the nursery when communicating with parents, visitors and other professionals.
  • To share the commitment of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people within the nursery.
