We are very lucky to have our own dedicated soft play. Every child in the nursery has the opportunity to spend time in this room throughout the day.
We provide a huge range of activities to promote physical wellbeing using the wonderful large soft area; we play with parachutes, make obstacle courses, practice ball control, join in with music and movement and generally enjoy free play in the different soft play equipment.
This is without a doubt the children’s favourite room in the nursery.
We encourage outdoor play all year round as we passionately feel that all children should be exposed to playing in a natural environment in the fresh air as much as possible.
Our garden has a variety of outdoor toys available to children to encourage active and imaginative play.
The kitchen is one of the most important parts of the nursery! Our specialist and purpose built catering kitchen is tailor made to ensure your little one receives all the goodness they require for an exciting day of adventures.
Our kitchen staff are dedicated to providing the children with the sustenance they need to get through the day. All staff hold food related qualifications and take an ardent approach in using these when designing the food menus. We understand that good nutrition in the early years is vital to promote healthy growth and development and we aim to target this within your child’s time at Daisychain.
All of our meals are freshly cooked on the premises, excluding the use of any processed ingredients, additives or any foods with increased salt or sugar. We consistently maintain a food hygiene rating of five stars and guarantee the quality of our meals by getting them analysed for nutritional content. We are also proud to have held the Eat Out Eat Well scheme since 2012!
We change our menus seasonally using locally sourced fresh produce. Equally, we actively use the herbs and vegetables that the children grow within the nursery premises. Taking a proactive approach to teaching, our head chef often cooks with the children to promote healthy eating, recipe knowledge and cooking skills.
We provide a variety of foods from all cultures and actively encourage children to explore new flavours. We are able to provide alternative menus for vegetarians, vegans and young babies to ensure all children receive the same quality within their food. Equally, any allergies are strictly adhered to and alternative meals can be provided for any severe dislikes.
As the children develop through the setting, they are openly encouraged to self-serve and help themselves to a range of different foods and drinks throughout the day.
